Education

Dianne has extensive experience in running education workshops for client and community groups. The range of topics has been on communication skills, assertion, self-esteem, pre-marital, conflict resolution, anger management, domestic violence, grief after relationship separation and sexual abuse. She designs workshops according to community requests.
Dianne has taught nursing, medical and counselling students in various sexuality and relationship topics. She has conducted two training workshops for counsellors at Centacare in SA in working with sexuality and intimacy issues in relationship counselling and conducted a pre-symposium training workshop on sexuality at a National Australian Relationship Conference in Queensland. She has conducted two day professional training workshops on Working with Womens’ Sexual Concerns in Melbourne and Adelaide.

Dianne has been an invited speaker at several community forums and groups addressing sexuality and intimacy after breast cancer, kidney transplant, lung and heart transplant, spinal injuries, multiple sclerosis, arthritis and Parkinson’s disease.
She has conducted sexual education sessions in secondary schools.

Working with Sexuality and Intimacy Issues in Relationship Counselling
This workshop is for professionals who wish to:
Feel comfortable, confident and knowledgeable in discussing sexual concerns with clients. Dianne has a realistic and practical approach that works.

    The workshop will explore:

  • An overview of some of the common sexual concerns
  • Myths and unrealistic expectations that get in the way of a good sexual relationship
  • How women and men are wired differently sexually
  • How to normalise client concerns
  • How to conduct an assessment
  • A range of treatment approaches and strategies

Working with Womens’ Sexual Concerns

This workshop is for counselling and health care professionals who work with women with various sexuality concerns.
This workshop will give participants competency in discussing sexual issues with clients and knowledge in assessing the complexities of female sexual arousal and the contributing factors to various female concerns.

    It will also provide a range of evidence-based treatment processes, skills and techniques for:

  • Managing vaginismus and painful intercourse
  • Enhancing sexual desire and arousal
  • Increasing the possibilities of regular orgasms
  • Enhancing the whole orgasmic experience
  • Sexuality and Menopause concerns
  • Question and Answer session
  • This workshop will have an experiential component to learn relaxation, breath, energy & mindfulness techniques which enable women to stay focused and be present in their body during a sexual experience.
